The business was founded in 2019 by Victoria Sample, who spent more than 20 years working in the NHS in a variety of roles. Driven by a desire to improve outcomes for individuals with reduced mental capacity, Victoria launched the business to bridge a clear gap in the market, offering high-quality, accessible mental capacity assessments that support both individuals and families through complex decisions.
Initially developed alongside her NHS role, Victoria transitioned to running the business full-time in March 2021. Since then, Gain Capacity Experts has gone from strength to strength, growing to a team of 11 experienced assessors, including an occupational therapist, a social worker, a dementia specialist, a psychiatrist, and an experienced personal assistant.
The firm now supports clients across England and Wales, working closely with solicitors and families to deliver face-to-face and virtual assessments. The new office, based at The Grove on Peache Way in Bramcote, is close to the M1 and provides a modern, welcoming space for team collaboration, meetings, and in-person assessments.

“Opening our first office is about more than just having a physical space – it’s about creating a hub for our growing team and a base for delivering the highest quality service to our clients. We’ve grown steadily, but always with a focus on maintaining the highest standards, ensuring compliance, and providing reassurance to those we work with.”
As part of their future plans, Gain Capacity Experts will soon expand their services to include mental health assessments, such as ADHD and autism assessments, continuing their commitment to supporting individuals with complex needs across the country.
